Biography

Mr. Yang Cheng is a Doctor of Political Science, Professor of International Relations, and the Executive President of the Shanghai Academy of Global Governance and Area Studies at Shanghai International Studies University, China.

Prof. Yang ever served seven years in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC and the Chinese Embassy in Moscow as a diplomat with a research focus on international security issues.

He was a guest professor at the University of Cergy Pontoise (France), visiting research fellow of Slavic Research Centre at Hokkaido University (Japan), visiting international fellow of the University of Exeter, and visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge (UK). He is also the member of Editorial Board of two top journals in South Korea and two in Russia.

His current research interest focuses on China's version of global order and Eurasian regional governance.

Prof. Yang published more than 60 papers in Chinese, English, Russian, Japanese, French and had won the Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Awards for his excellent research papers and policy recommendations.
